Pedro Arellano is responsible for the marketing and product management of MicroStrategy Cloud Intelligence. With more than 14 years of experience in the high-tech industry, Mr. Arellano has extensive expertise in business intelligence, application development, project management, customer service and sales. He has appeared as a speaker at industry conferences and tradeshows across the US and Europe. Prior to his current role, he held positions at MicroStrategy as Director of Professional Services and Senior Director of Worldwide Technical Support. Mr. Arellano holds a Computer Engineering degree from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico.
Bruce has over 25 years of experience developing, marketing, selling and investing in technology with an emphasis in data warehousing and analytic applications. Prior to PivotLink, Bruce served as Chairman and CEO of Kickfire (acquired by Teradata in 2010. Bruce previously served as President and CEO of KNOVA Software, EVP of Sales & Marketing at Broadbase Software and VP & GM of Sybase’s Server Products Group. Bruce started his career as one of the first 20 employees at Teradata, and was VP & GM of the Enterprise Solutions Division and an officer of AT&T following the company’s successful IPO and acquisition by AT&T/NCR.
Vice President, Big Data, IBM Silicon Valley Laboratory
Anjul Bhambhri is the Vice President of Big Data. She was previously the Director of IBM Optim application and data life cycle management tools. She is a seasoned professional with over twenty-two years in the database industry. Over this time, Anjul has held various engineering and management positions at IBM, Informix and Sybase. Prior to her assignment in tools, Anjul spearheaded the development of XML capabilities in IBM’s DB2 database server. Ian Bird is Vice President of Cloud Solutions for Kognitio and is an experienced technologist and client manager. He focuses on the deployment and management of complex data integration environments and defining class-leading technical solutions around analytical platforms. He is responsible for architecting Big Data, in-memory analytics as a Cloud platform in an elastic compute framework, and for working with partners to ensure that its delivery is customer-centric.
As CIO and Vice President of Operations for Host Analytics, Richard oversees the Host Analytics technology and hosting strategy as well as supporting the growing number of Host Analytics employees. Since joining Host Analytics in 2004, Richard has overseen professional services, as well as development, implementation and support procedures for the company’s cloud-based offering. As CIO, Richard is closely involved in implementing and managing the company’s infrastructure, ensuring elite service levels in continuous uptime, security and performance for Host Analytics customers. Previously, Richard held IT leadership positions with Albertson’s Food & Drug and CARQUEST Auto Parts with full P&L responsibility over distribution center operations.
In her role, Rhianna assists software companies in strengthening the collective voice of the industry globally; identifying and addressing common challenges facing the industry; and developing the strategic relationships vital to competing and succeeding in today’s marketplace. Prior to SIIA, Rhianna was Assistant Vice President for Scottish Development International, Scotland’s Economic Development Agency. At SDI, Rhianna played a pivotal sales role with an ambassadorial slant, promoting and representing Scotland in key sectors such as software, creative industries and energy.
Mark is a thought leader and entrepreneur who’s committed to using technology for good, not evil. Current Founder & CEO of cloud business intelligence (BI) company Indicee, Mark’s been involved in the BI industry since 1991, when his family business began building the Crystal line of reporting products. Following Crystal’s acquisition, Mark went on to launch several new ventures, building an enviable customer list along the way, including Nike, Pfizer, Xerox, Microsoft and Nortel. Mark is a strong advocate of cloud computing who brings a unique perspective on how IT delivery and BI has changed over the last 20 years.
Chuck DeVita leads Growth Process Group. He has over 30 years experience in technology solution Sales and Marketing management. He led the growth of two startups and the turnaround of a public company. Chuck has helped numerous Enterprise Software and SaaS Solution providers in the U.S. and Europe, including serving as interim VP Sales & Marketing for several companies. Chuck is a recognized speaker and visionary on sales and marketing management. He teaches several courses to professionals at Stanford (CSP Program) including “Cloud Computing-Selling & Marketing SaaS to the Enterprise.” He is a frequent speaker at industry forums, including the SaaS University seminars.
Chor-Ching is an expert in industry focused analytics and real-time data integration solutions. Prior to LogiXML, he led integration solutions at Deltek for the flagship Costpoint ERP platform. Prior to Deltek, Chor-Ching was responsible for user-focused integration, situational awareness, and analytics platforms at JackBe and Institutional Shareholder Services. He started his career with GE Information Services where he graduated from GE’s Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP), achieved his Six Sigma BlackBelt certification, and spearheaded product development to drive the evolution to process-based B2B supply chain orchestration and visibility. Chor-Ching studied Accounting Information Systems and Finance at Virginia Tech and serves as an advisory board member at his alma mater.
Jane Griffin, a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP, has more than 30 years of information technology experience focused on information management, business intelligence, data warehousing and master data management. She assists and advises her multi-industry clients in designing, developing and implementing technology and processes to efficiently leverage their information. As Americas Leader of Deloitte Analytics, Jane brings her vast experience to help client use business analytics to drive smarter decisions and better results. Griffin’s articles have been featured in more than 150 trade journals. She speaks internationally on master data management, data warehousing, data quality and enterprise information strategy.
Mr. Hack has 20 years of experience, creating game changing technology products, services and strategies. His experience includes the management of product lines with revenues totaling $1.8B/year. He has launched ground-breaking products, driven world wide strategies and helped set de-facto industry standards. As an expert on Trusted Computing, Virtualization and High Performance environments he became a sought-after advisor to many Fortune 500 companies and government organizations including the FBI, CIA and DIA. In his past roles he was involved in all aspects of the product life cycle including engineering, product management, marketing, business development and sales. He also developed and introduced products and services into virtually every commercial and government, channel and market segment.
Doug is responsible for the strategic use of technology at Splunk. His team serves Splunk’s IT needs using private and public cloud solutions, while managing web functionality and global facilities. Doug oversees corporate analytics, an internal Splunk implementation to deliver web analytics, application management, security forensics and operational intelligence for the company at large. He has been leading IT organizations at companies such as Ingres Corporation, Portal Software and Hewlett Packard. Doug has a B.S. degree in business from Cal Poly, SLO. He is engaged in the CISE CIO consortium, lectures at several universities and is a faculty member for the CIO Executive Development Program at San Francisco State University.
Entrepreneur and Olympian, Andrew Hermann, recently joined CorSource Technology Group, a leading Northwest technology service provider, including business unit Agilis Solutions, as chief marketing officer. Responsible for driving the revenue growth of CorSource, Andrew leads planning, strategy and execution of sales and marketing initiatives for the 125-employee company, founded in 1994. With offices in Oregon and California, CorSource provides ISVs with software development, maintenance and consulting services for Cloud, SaaS, Mobile, Predictability and beyond to define and optimize the path from vision to product release. CorSource also supports small-to-medium sized business IT departments with their specialized technical staffing needs.
Russ Hertzberg has 12 years continuous experience in executive and entrepreneurial product ownership roles in Cloud Computing. From 1997 to 2000, through technology acquisition, he developed, managed, and grew the most successful commercial managed hosting service in Scantron history. From 2003 to 2007, he was an operating angel in one of the first SaaS providers of on demand document and data sites. From 2008 to 2011, he provided consulting services for a series of Cloud Computing projects including the Workxpress PaaS, the M86 email and web security Cloud, and the Aria Systems SaaS billing and subscription management platform. Russ joined SoftServe Inc. in May of 2011, as Vice President, SaaS and ISV Solutions.
Kate Hunt, director of communities, CompTIA, manages the association’s Cloud Community and Unified Communications Community. She helps the communities to identify and act on initiatives that will positively impact the entire IT channel. She has spent most of the past decade in the IT channel exclusively. She has served previously in various roles for VAR companies, channel vendors and channel training organizations. From service delivery to vendor relationships to marketing and sales, she has seen it all and understands what works.
Adam Hyder is the CTO and VP of engineering at Jobvite. In this role, Adam drives Jobvite’s initiatives on technology, BigData and social networks and is responsible for product strategy, design and development of Jobvite’s social recruitment platform. An Industry veteran with more than 15 years of experience, Adam has been with Jobvite since 2008. Adam has built and led world class engineering teams for Fortune 500 companies as well as successful start ups. Prior to Jobvite, Adam lead Yahoo’s Display Advertising and Advertising Platform (APT) and was CTO and Sr. Director of Engineering for Yahoo! HotJobs. Adam has several patents on Search, Machine Learning, Categorization and Recommendation technologies.
David leads the business and product management functions for Pervasive’s Big Data Products group. Previously, he led the global marketing and international channels teams for Pervasive’s Integration Products group, as well as the company’s Innovation Lab. During his 20+ years in the software industry in the U.S. and Europe, David has driven innovative business models and technology adoption strategies for many application development and data management products. Before joining Pervasive, he held executive roles at Data Junction, Revelation Technologies, Helix Expert Systems and Ashton-Tate. Education: M.Sc., Cambridge University; M.B.A., London Graduate School of Business Studies.
Chris Jones is the Sr. Manager of Text Analytics at Zynga and is responsible for the business, technical, and strategic elements of the text analytics platform. The platform empowers Zynga to build great games based on direct player feedback. Chris has helped build Voice of the Customer programs at several companies including Intuit, Adobe, and now Zynga. He is an avid Word with Friends player but remembers to always turn off his phone before boarding an airplane.
Managing Director, THINKstrategies, Inc.
Jeff Kaplan is the Managing Director of THINKstrategies, the only strategic consulting firm focused entirely on the business implications of the transition of the technology industry from product-centric to services-driven solutions, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Cloud Computing and Managed Services. THINKstrategies helps IT/business decision-makers with their sourcing strategies; solution providers with their marketing strategies; and venture firms with their investment strategies. Ju-kay is the product management lead for Google’s Cloud Big Data initiative. In this role, he focuses on creating enterprise-class services that enable businesses to harness Google’s unparalleled data processing infrastructure and algorithms to tackle their growing Big Data needs. Prior to Google, Ju-kay led product management for SOA and Application Performance Management at Wily Technology and CA Technologies. Ju-kay holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds patents in the areas of data-centric interfaces and multi-modal sales applications.
George oversees marketing, products, and strategy for Alteryx. He brings over 16 years of executive leadership experience in enterprise technology, software-as-a-service, and ecommerce. George’s broad experience is helping to further accelerate exponential growth at Alteryx, while the business enjoys the highest customer success rate in the industry. Previously, George was the group vice-president & general manager for Business Intelligence (BI) at SAP BusinessObjects where he led the BusinessObjects Explorer team, and before that managed SAP’s portfolio strategy in the Office of the CEO. Prior to SAP, George was an early member of salesforce.com. He was also a founding member of Fort Point Partners, a management consultancy that delivered large-scale e-commerce systems.
Stephen Messer is Co-founder and Vice Chairman of Collective[i], a software-as-a-service business intelligence solution for marketers that automates the work associated with compiling and analyzing data and socializes knowledge throughout the organization. Mr. Messer is Chairman of the Council for Accountable Advertising, an industry association for best-of-breed advertising technologies. Prior to these ventures, Mr. Messer, along with his sister, Ms. Heidi Messer, founded, built and managed LinkShare Corporation until its sale in 2005 to Rakuten for $425m. Mr. Messer holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York and a B.A. from Lafayette University.
As the company’s Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Paul guides the development of Quantivo’s cloud analytics platform and on-demand applications. He has more than 15 years of development and engineering experience in the business intelligence and customer relationship management industries. Previously, Paul was a founding engineer at Broadbase, now part of Kana Software. In that role he helped the company develop customer-focused analytic and marketing automation applications that were widely adopted by Fortune 1000 companies.
Gary has served in leadership marketing roles at data center infrastructure companies for over a dozen years. Prior to Fusion-io, he was the vice president of marketing at MaxiScale, a technical leader in web scale file systems acquired by Overland Storage. Prior, he was the vice president of marketing and business development at Gear6, a caching and file acceleration pioneer. He also served as vice president of marketing at Compellent which went public in 2007 and was a co-founder at Nishan Systems, acquired by McDATA/Brocade. Gary hosts The Cloud Computing Show, contributes to GigaOM, and authors IP Storage Networking: Straight to the Core.
As CEO and co-founder of Claritics, Raj is pioneering the development of innovative analytics apps that enable deep insights into social and mobile behaviors. He was previously on the executive team at Aster Data, powering big data solutions in social graph analysis, gaming and advertising. He also led the global product management team at Informatica, developed and launched portal solutions for Tibco, and worked on the design team at Intel. Raj has an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and a B.Tech in Electrical Engg. from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Brad has spent the last 10 years building analytics products and solutions. Prior to Birst, he helped found and later led the Analytics product line at Siebel Systems which forms the basis of Oracle’s current OIBEE product family. Recognizing the limitations of enterprise analytics offering and power of Cloud technologies, Brad founded Birst in 2005. He started his career as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley in the New York M&A practice. Brad received a BS and MS in electrical engineering and computer science from UC Berkeley. his MBA from Harvard.
Chris brings over 18 years of experience in both private and public companies building out new markets and business models for enterprise middleware. Chris was most recently the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Aeris Communications, where he was responsible for marketing, alliances, and services. Previously Chris led the new ventures and strategic alliances team at Platform Computing, and has also held senior executive level positions at GoldenGate Software (acquired by Oracle), Network Inference (acquired by WebMethods), and Aspect Communications. Chris led the initial market strategy and launch of Oracle’s application server product division. Chris holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.
David brings more than 20 years of experience leading organizations and leveraging partnerships for building successful companies. He sets the AppFirst strategic direction and guides the day-to-day business execution. Prior to AppFirst, David was CEO at Trigence (now AppZero), an application virtualization company, where he established the company’s success with quarter over quarter revenue growth through enterprise adoption and closed two rounds of venture capital. In 2003, David took on the role of Vice President, Services and Business Development at Consera, an IT automation company. As the Founder and CEO of Stratis Group, David built teams that drove the growth of this eBusiness B2B solutions company throughout the late 1990s.
Ken Rudin is responsible for developing Facebook’s analytics strategies and services. Prior to joining Facebook, he managed Zynga’s analytics platform to generate insights that drove Zynga’s strategy. He also used social, communication, and personalization technologies as the foundation of its social gaming platforms. Previously, Ken was the Founder/CEO of LucidEra, a pioneer in the on-demand analytics market. Before founding LucidEra, Ken was VP/GM of Siebel CRM OnDemand and VP Marketing for Siebel Analytics (now Oracle Analytics). Ken also served as Senior VP of Products for Salesforce.com and started his career at the Scalable Systems Division at Oracle. Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering from Harvard University and a master’s degree in business from Stanford University.
Terry is currently the SaaS Business Development Manager for Information Builders. She has over 25 years experience developing, delivering, and selling technology solutions to Fortune 50 and Mid-Market organizations. As SaaS Business Development Manager, Terry is responsible for working with Information Builders prospects and customers to enhance their solutions through the application of Information Builders WebFOCUS technology. Prior to Information Builders, Terry held various sales and business development positions at HP, E.piphany, Verity and Autonomy.
Gurjeet Singh is the CEO and co-founder of Ayasdi. Gurjeet has a Ph.D. degree in Computational Mathematics from Stanford University. His work over the last ten years has focused on the theory, algorithms and applications of large scale machine learning to complex datasets. Gurjeet has published academic papers in top mathematics journals and computer science conferences. Gurjeet has previously worked on large scale machine learning problems at Google. He has also worked at Texas Instruments on high throughput serial IO chips.
Amit led the market introduction of SAP HANA across database, data-warehouse and real-time applications markets. Prior to this role, as VP of Business Network Transformation, Amit was responsible for driving the phenomenon of collaboration across business boundaries through innovations in SAP’s Portfolio. He has worked with customers on new cloud based collaborative applications that empower people & communities to collaborate, leverage information for collaborative decision making and ultimately enhance the company’s business model. Amit is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley.
Ashok N. Srivastava, Ph.D. is a Venture Advisor at Trident Capital in the area of Big Data and Analytics. He specializes in advanced analytics on massive data sets and serves as the Principal Scientist for Data Mining and Systems Health Management at NASA Ames Research Center. He has three books on data mining and machine learning, four patents awarded and nine in progress, and over 90 papers in peer reviewed journals and conferences to his credit. Awards include the IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award for “pioneering contributions to intelligent information systems,” the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal for contributions to state-of-the-art data mining and analysis, the IBM Golden Circle Award, and the Department of Education Merit Fellowship.
Roman Stanek is a technology visionary who has spent the past twenty years building world-class technology companies. Currently Founder & CEO of GoodData, which provides disruptive analytical platform in the cloud, he previously co-founded fi NetBeans, now a part of Sun Microsystems and one of the leading Java IDEs, and Systinet, now owned by Hewlett-Packard and the leading SOA Governance platform on the market.
Lonnie Wills launched CloudTrigger in 2009 in response to a growing demand for complete SaaS solutions that incorporate cloud computing technologies and services. Wills is a visionary who has been instrumental in developing global SaaS strategies and applications, such as G2Maps and G2Analytics, that solve core business challenges by reducing the cost and complexity of data and application silos, while driving profitability and reducing total cost of ownership. He is a recognized industry leader with more than 20 years of experience in IT consulting and management, a frequent speaker on SaaS and cloud technology, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Dan Woods is CTO and Editor of CITOResearch.com, a site devoted to helping IT professionals adopt advanced technology and improve their management and leadership skills. Dan has a BA in Computer Science from the University of Michigan. He was CTO of TheStreet.com and CapitalThinking. In mid career, Dan received an MS from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and spent 6 years working as a reporter. He has written more than 20 books on technology topics including “APIs: A Strategy Guide,” published by O’Reilly Media in December 2011. Dan also is a contributor to Forbes.com.
Mr. Young is responsible for the strategic direction of Informatica’s global information systems and technology infrastructure. During his tenure at Informatica, Mr. Young and the Information Technology department have won prestigious industry awards, including the 2006 CIO Decision Midmarket Leadership Award, and the 2007 100 Best Places to Work in IT by ComputerWorld. Prior to joining Informatica in 2002, Mr. Young served at Mindcrossing and Converge. Mr. Young began his career at HP where he served in a number of information technology and marketing roles. Mr. Young earned a bachelor’s degree in information systems and a master’s degree in business administration from Santa Clara University.
